Associate Event Director

A global event management and production company based in Washington, DC is adding TWO (2) NEW Associate Event Directors to their team.

They are a certified Woman Owned Small Business through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. They work closely with associations, corporations, governments, and non-profit organizations around the world to create innovative event strategies and deliver value-added services designed to fulfill our clients’ missions through thought-provoking events and meaningful engagement.

They are seeking an experienced Associate Event Director to join their fully remote team. This position is responsible for ensuring successful in-person and virtual event execution, including logistical preparation, vendor management, and any other tasks needed to make our clients’ events exceptional. To be successful in this position, the candidate must demonstrate two to three years of event management experience as well as strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. They must be extremely detail-oriented and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work extended days, evenings and weekends as needed; when possible, advanced notice is provided when an Associate Event Director is expected to work outside their standard workday {9:00am – 5:30pm ET). However, advanced notice is not always available.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required
  • Active in an industry organization such as SGMP, MPI, PCMA, ILEA, or other
  • Has begun course work to become a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to feedback
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks conforming to shifting demands and timelines
  • Gracefulness under pressure; must be able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Ability to troubleshoot and effectively and creatively problem-solve
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Collaborative, enthusiastic, self-motivated, results-oriented and high energy individual
  • Conducts all business with the utmost honesty, integrity and sensitivity
  • Prior experience in utilizing Social Tables a plus
  • Prior knowledge of CVENT and/or EventsAir a plus

Requirements and Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • A minimum of two to three years of event management experience strongly preferred
  • Logistics coordination and execution experience
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
  • Based out of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, although position is fully remote
  • Active passport at all times since occasional international travel is required
