A company located in Furlong, PA is seeking an experienced Digital Design / DSP Engineer to provide design support for products used in wireless telemetry for Defense and Space applications.
The Company is an industry leader in flight vehicle transmitters and receivers used to transmit telemetry and command/control between various Aviation, Munitions, Space Launch vehicles and Satellites and the ground monitoring systems used in R&D and flight launch. These products offer our customers high reliability under some of the most extreme operating environments, with high efficiency, in small form factors.
Design tasks will include:
- Clean-sheet designs
- Design trade-off studies
- Support of existing product designs, design enhancements and reapplication
- Support of debugging and troubleshooting of existing designs
- Design processes and schedules maintenance
- PCB design process support
- Bill of Material generation
- Production documentation support
- Test equipment selection
- Assisting in test system design, planning, monitoring, support and test data validation reviews
The ideal engineering candidate should have experience in:
- FPGA/ASIC and DSP related design, test, and production support of modern digital implementations of transmitter and receiver components and systems
- Prototype development
- Verilog/VHDL and HDL design
- Programming languages such as Assembly and C
- Design analysis tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Synopsys and ModelSim
- Analog and digital communication systems analysis & design
- Knowledge of Error Coding/Correction schemes and algorithms, such as Convolutional and Low-Density Parity Check, is also highly desired.
- Applied knowledge of digital communications concepts such as modulation/demodulation, AGC, digital filter analysis & design
- Pulse Coded – Frequency Modulation (PCM/FM)
- Multi-Level Frequency Shift Keying (M-FSK)
- Various Phase-Shift Keyed (PSK) modulations such as Binary/Quaternary Phase Shift (BPSK/QPSK), Shaped/Offset QPSK and 8-PSK.
Requirements include:
- BSEE/MSEE
- S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience (Equivalent work experience in Aerospace and Defense related programs will be considered)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong teamwork approach
- Independent problem solver who can work with minimal oversight
- System requirements interpretation, development, derivation, and management
- Organized and reliable
- Strong test and progress report preparation skills
- Ability to work with remotely located design resources
- Proficiency with MSOffice tools
- Minimal travel may be required
