Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is a key member of the Engineering team and is responsible for important value creation activities providing outstanding mentorship and technical leadership. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player and will add value in the form of a positive contribution to the project execution and the wider Engineering team.

The Project Engineer acts as the subject matter expert for detailed engineering in the development of the solutions. Focus on mechanical design & detailed engineering including performing design calculations, process optimization, sizing & selection of equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Lead and prepare various engineering deliverables (drawings & documents) such as plant and equipment drawings, P&I Diagrams, equipment specifications, cause & effect diagrams, HAZOP studies & reports, operation & maintenance manuals etc.
  • Provide necessary engineering inputs to the other disciplines and other departments. •
  • Utilize best practice methods to provide expert project delivery and technical guidance for our various initiatives, while ensuring conformance with established standard operating practices, business controls and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Review of vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations as well as oversee and assess existing workflows to optimize productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge to drive financial and operational performance, project scheduling, manufacturing, safety, quality standards, inspection and testing.
  • Apply business and commercial expertise to differentiate from the competition. • Ensure delivery of a robust and reliable product.
  • Collaborate with the production and service team on the best process to build our product and services. • Preparation & Issue of RFQ’s, evaluation of vendor’s quotations, clarifications, Technical Bid Analysis etc.
  • Review of vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations.
  • Optimize productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures.
  • Assemble reports to document process status and changes.
  • Track metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.
  • Utilize process simulation software to test and find the most appropriate production strategies.
  • Provide thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide technical support.
  • Professionalism, regular attendance, and punctuality are required.

  • Operates safely in all conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15-years energy engineering project work experience in rotating equipment design and manufacturing.
  • Degreed professional – Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required. Master of Engineering or Professional Engineering preferred.
  • Demonstrable track record of value creation.
  • Big and small company experience, new product introduction experience and product certification experience preferred.
  • Results oriented, self-motivated with a high level of enthusiasm and energy, coupled with a strong work ethic.
  • High level of integrity, innovation and creativity.
  • Strong communication and stellar teamwork skills with the proven ability to express ideas and opinions and gain consensus.
  • Practical with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to display and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated record of diligence and attention to detail working with very high standards both personally and technically.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office and related technology.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States or applicable country of assignment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours across all shifts, weekends
